The Friends of Dogtown is a citizens group that was founded in early 2015. Its mission is to conserve, interpret, and celebrate Dogtown’s unique historical, cultural, and ecological heritage for the benefit of the citizens of Cape Ann and the general public. We advocate for Dogtown in three important areas:
- Preservation – develop projects to preserve Dogtown’s unique historical and cultural heritage
- Education – sponsor research, conduct tours, develop apps and other information resources
- Celebration – organize Dogtown Days and other related events
The Friends of Dogtown works with other groups in these areas in order to maintain a sustained level of awareness within the Cape Ann community of Dogtown and all that it has to offer.
We are a private non-profit organization operating under the Essex County Greenbelt Association 501(c)(3).
The purpose of this website is to provide the Dogtown community with information concerning the issues that face Dogtown. Published posts do not necessarily represent the opinion of all members of the Friends of Dogtown.
